We spent this year's American Thanksgiving out in Roseville with my brother Kevin's family. We stayed in their very gorgeous new home with their beautiful family - (Tyler 4 weeks and Lizzy 2 years) and my parents. We had such a good time! It was so nice to be there for more than just a weekend and to spend time chatting, going on walks, sleeping, visiting the zoo, cuddling little Tyler, jumping on the trampoline, playing in the hot tub, shopping and even a courtside Kings game for the boys.
Unfortunately, we don't have many pics from our time in Roseville. But here's a good one... Todd, Ryder, cousin Lizzy and Kevin enjoying the Folsom zoo.
This little zoo is actually really nice - and it even had a train to ride! I have to admit, though, once I saw the very active and vocal tiger, I started planning my escape, should the need arise. Thanks go to the SF zoo for that mentality.
Shortly after returning home to SF, we ventured out to Home Depot to pick out a Christmas tree. As charming as it would be to go down to our little San Francisco corner tree lot to pick out the perfect tree, economics wins on this one. You don't even want to know the price difference between Clancy's and Home Depot. Sorry Clancy.
Can't you feel the excitement just by looking at Ryder's face. He was so very giddy! All of our holiday traditions and preparations were so much more fun this year, with Ryder being oh so much older and wiser.
We kept our glass ornaments in storage and bought some beautiful foam snowflakes that Ryder and I decorated for the tree.... for obvious reasons. Ryder LOVED decorating all by himself. Check out that nice little cluster of blue and white glittery snowflakes.

Another way to get into the holiday spirit is to decorate your house with the ENTIRE little people nativity set from Fisher Price - tents for the wisemen, an inn, full backdrops, camels, sheep, dogs, etc. Thanks to Nana and Papa (Todd's parents), we now are proud owners of one such set. Ryder was happy as ever opening up every little piece and arranging each one perfectly. Thanks mom (and dad)!
While in Roseville for Thanksgiving, Cannon learned to enjoy a bouncy seat such as this one. It's great - He kicks his legs, and it bounces. No extra assistance required. So of course his Grandma Hansen decided he had to have one. Thanks, mom, for the early Christmas gift! As you can see, he loves it!
And I have to ask - what did the elves bring you this year? In our family, if you're extra good, the elves will leave a little treat in your stocking every day of December. Ryder was thrilled to find his advent calendar and some new gummy vitamins on December 1... and he later received yummy Reses pieces, twix, a harmonica and Christmas cookies.

Looks like you guys had a fun Christmas with lots of family. Jax loved his bouncer, too, but now he's in that stage where he can't hold still because he wants to explore.
That nativity set is even bigger in person - what awesome in-laws! :) Cannon's smiley face is SO adorable! And how fun that Ryder is old enough to understand more about Christmas!
