life isn't fair

a few weeks ago i took a last minute trip to utah to spend some time with my darling sister, amy. she and her husband recently lost their precious angel baby, Alexis Lynne. you can read more about their story here and here.

i know i'll never ever know what amy and zach have gone through these past couple of months. but i'm glad i could go and just be with her for a few days. i wish i could go again and again. huge thank yous go to jen, kat, kristin and sarah for welcoming ryder into their homes while i was away. needless to say, our family has had a rough few months. the tears continue to come.

i love amy so much. i admire her in so many ways. she is incredibly strong. she has such great faith, love and hope. she is amazing. her testimony of our Savior, Jesus Christ is solid. but i also know hard times come - often in quiet, lonely moments.

amy, you're wonderful. i wish we could go get a nielsen's frozen custard, curl up on your comfy couches and chat into the night.

i miss you.

Don't listen to her...I'm not all that great. Just doing what we have to do. Thanks Jen for coming...we loved having you here. Love you!

Your sisters strength is inspiring. We lost our first pregnancy which I felt was the end of the world, but we were eventually blessed with Victoria. My heart breaks hearing/seeing her story, but she will have offered much comfort to those that have similar situations by sharing her so personal story.

Stories like this scare me SO MUCH about having kids myself. I know I shouldn't be afraid...that we aren't supposed to be afraid... But I don't know how to help it. That was nice of you to visit and be with your sister. I'd do the same for mine.
