easter 09 in granite bay

We were unable to spend easter 2009 with family, due to commitments at church, so we headed out to Granite Bay for general conference weekend and an early Easter celebration with two of my siblings' families.

"Watching" conference. Aunt Julie was so very darling and had an activity bag all ready for Ryder with all sorts of little toys, stickers, drawing pads and crayons inside. He still has many of those treasures today, a year later.

Cannon and cousin Tyler playing "together." Look how little they are!!! Yikes!

LOTS of time was spent out on the trampoline. Todd and Kevin put up the tramp fence, which enabled Ryder to jump fearlessly without their darling (but large) black lab, Willie.... who always wanted to jump too.

You can't get through a sunny weekend in California without barbecuing. So, so yummy!

And swimming.... in the hot tub. Still too cold for the big pool in early April!

The first of two easter egg hunts.

Lizzy and Ryder enjoying their treats.

I just had to post these pictures, because I thought this was so hilarious! You can tell Miss Lizzy has grown up with her big "brother" Willie around. She came walking out of the house with a plate of food and as soon as she saw him coming, she calmly and quietly reached up and put her plate on the counter. She then patiently waited as he stood nearby.... and then went about her business of getting her snack down after Willie lost interest and ran away.

What two year old does that so gracefully!?

Of course the barbecue had to be followed by smores later that night.

Cinda and Katelynne enjoying smores by the fire.

I just love visiting outdoors by a warm fire for hours on end! I hope to have a fire pit one day.... but we shall see. The thought of my two boys as teenagers around a fire pit doesn't sit too easy with me as of now.

And check out this diva.

Miss Lizzy has it goin' on! ;)

In between general conference sessions on Sunday, we headed out to Folsom lake to let Willie get some energy out... and for all of us to enjoy the sunshine. Of course there was a lot of rock and stick throwing to be had.

And we rounded out our weekend of fun with yet another Easter egg hunt. Can't ever have enough of those.... or candy!

We sure do miss living so close to these siblings and Ryder's and Cannon's cousins!!!
